Dumbravita Fishy Resort
Special protection area for wild birds
Is the most important location of water birds from Brasov County and one of the most representative from Transylvania, especially in migration. Dumbravita Fishy Resort is located in Barsa Depression, Brasov County at 25 kilometers North from Brasov City, on National Road Brasov- Sibiu, to Dumbravita Village. The resort has two separate areas: a barrier lake and a system of fishy ponds, extended on 414 hectares.
Here there were indentified over 150 birds species. Among them, a few are included in the International Conventions regarding fauna protection: bittern, small size aigrette, red aigrette, red duck, grey crown, field carstel etc. The area was called`` Brasov Delta`` or ``Mountain Delta``. In the protected area are allowed below activities: sport fishing in the North and South area of the barrier lake, studying and observing the birds, traditional activities (mowing, cattle and horses herbage etc. )
